  1. Love, Love!! — the snowflake cookies with the Stencil technique. I am presently doing
snowflakes for a friend’s daughter 15 yr old party ‘Winter Wonderland’. Wish I had that
stencil… so pretty and QUICK! Best of all, they look so classy. BTW, I’m making my cookies with your cookie recipe… I never get tired of that recipe.. so yummy. Where can
I get that cake snowflake stencil? I sure want to do them next Christmas. I never thought of using a stencil like that. Did you dip the cookies in the RI frosting all the way down the edges? That would be a quick way of frosting them, I would think. Thanks for the video.

  2. Hy Sylvia,

The stenciled snowflake cookies were my favorite this year. So quick and elegant. I’ll definitely be using that technique with other cookies as well. I bought the stencil at Michael’s and it was actually a cake topper stencil.

I used the paint brush technique because that’s my favorite way to control the icing on the cookie. I can paint all the way to the edge. I think dipping the cookies may put too much icing on them and the icing will drip down the sides.

    Thanks for commenting!

Hello! I'm new to this site, and I'm looking forward to making some of these beautiful cookies! You always learn something new, I guess, I have been applying royal icing to cookies with a pastry bag, I never even thought of a brush! Boy, do I feel stupid! But then again, if I knew it all, I wouldn't be here, would I? :D I can't wait for a day off work to get started, I just recieved some great cookie cutters from Fancy Flours, so it's time to show these cookies who's boss! ;)
Hi Karen, Thank you so much for all the great information.  You completely answered all my questions, and so very promptly. I had tried to make cutout cookies before with little luck.  After finding your website, I was a success!  You explain the whole process in just the "language" I can understand and use. Thanks again, Jane
